Who's Supporting Our Work

A statement about conservation easements from Jim and Clarice Holder:

"This is a very personal decision based on how you value land, its use, and the impacts on the complex eco-community.  It is not a quick decision and is best done when you are sure about what you want for the future of your land and when you have discussed these plans with your family.”

Protecting and Conserving Land in Arizona's White Mountains

BirdThe White Mountains are one of Arizona’s special places, where forests and streams are home to elk, bald eagles, wolves, threatened native fish and frogs, and more.

These mountains are also home to a growing human population, where precious open spaces within and around our communities are giving way to commercial and residential development.

What We're Doing to Help

The White Mountains Land Trust (WMLT) is dedicated to fostering a balance between growth and meaningful open space protection.

WMLT is led by a Board of Directors. We also have subcommittees for:

  • Land management
  • Membership and outreach
  • Specific projects

Our Board of Directors encourages you to get involved with any of our subcommittees. For more information, either contact us or attend one of our meetings. The Trust holds regular meetings on the second Tuesday of every month at the Pinetop-Lakeside Town Council Chambers at 1360 Neils Hansen Lane in Lakeside (see map below).

Winter meetings will be held every other month beginning in September (meetings will be held in November, January, March) and resume monthly meetings April through September (no meetings will be held in October, December, February).
